Description
Golden sourdough toasts to crisp perfection, giving way to a velvety layer of tangy goat cheese. Warm honey trickles through, balancing heat from red pepper flakes for every bite bursting with sweet-spicy harmony.
Ingredients
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons goat cheese
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Spread the softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Flip the slices and spread goat cheese on the unbuttered sides.
- Drizzle honey over the goat cheese and sprinkle red pepper flakes on top.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches buttered side down.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown, about 3–4 minutes, then flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is warmed through.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Substitute brioche or whole grain bread for a different flavor and texture.
- Adjust honey and red pepper flakes to suit your sweetness and heat preference.
- For extra crunch, add thin apple or pear slices inside before grilling.
- Make sure the pan isn’t too hot to prevent burning the bread before the cheese melts.
