Description
Fluffy yeast dough is rolled out, layered with buttery cinnamon sugar and tender, cornstarch-coated peaches, then baked until golden. The warm rolls are drizzled with a luscious peach-infused glaze for an irresistible finish.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup peeled diced peaches
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons peach puree
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine warm milk with granulated sugar and yeast and let stand 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl mix flour and salt then add yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Meanwhile toss diced peaches with cornstarch in a bowl until evenly coated.
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface to a 12×18 inch rectangle and spread softened butter over the surface.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon evenly over the buttered dough, then distribute the coated peaches on top.
- Starting from a long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log and slice into 12 equal rolls.
- Place the rolls cut side up in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, peach puree, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Remove the rolls from the oven, let cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- Use ripe peaches for the best natural sweetness and flavor
- Ensure the milk is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast
- Frozen peaches can be used if fresh are unavailable; thaw and drain excess liquid first
- Adjust the cinnamon sugar ratio to suit your personal taste preference
